Michael got his start in computer networking when he enrolled in the Cisco Networking Academy. He majored in both Computer Networking and Network Security, graduating at every level with a 4.0 GPA and twice awarded the National Science Foundation Scholarship for both awarded majors; he is recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in his field by the Cyber Security & Information Assurance Center (CSIAC) as well as CompTIA. His demonstrated real-world skill and expertise and knowledge instructing coursework ranging from “Introduction to Cisco Networking” and “Network Security Fundamentals” to “Ethical Hacking” and “Wireless Security Fundamentals”. His demonstrated ability to deliver complex technical instruction in a clear and understandable manner has earned him recognition by the Southern Association of Colleges as an outstanding educator in 2010.

Michael has served as the Chief Information Assurance (IA) policy architect and advisor to the 3 star STRATCOM commanding General, as well as, the Chair for the Cybersecurity Training & Planning (CST&P) Working Group, and the principle NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Risk Management Framework lead organizational advisor where he was responsible for establishing the scope of responsibilities for all Information Assurance / Cyber Security personnel and the senior Advisor to the Army Major General (2 Star) commander, Army Brigadier General (1 Star) deputy commander and Senior Executive Service (SES) management responsible for the development of policies and procedures related to cyber assurance and data protection.

Michael has been a featured speaker for organizations such as ISC2, Atlanta APT Summit, NETCOM Cybersecurity Summit, and many more.
